SCREENWRITING I

This workshop is an intensive 10-week course in the art and craft of screenwriting. Taught by award-winning writer/director James Savoca, this class educates beginning screenwriters in the essential elements of screenwriting from developing a good idea to creating a treatment.

Topics covered include finding the right idea, developing character, plot, structure, themes and B stories, goals and conflicts, scene analysis, and how to pitch.  During the workshop students develop a solid idea for a script and produce a finished treatment to a feature-length screenplay.  Classes meet once a week and include weekly writing exercises.
